Tavalon Tea Bar

the essentials
22 East 14th St (btw University & 5th Ave)

the quick review
walked by this on a hot summer afternoon (heat index 100 anyone?) and decided to grab an ice tea. immediately liked the interesting tea selections. ordered a 12 oz. iced lemongreen which was ice green tea with Thai lemongrass. simpled, yet does the trick. You can get interesting bubble tea as well as a moTeajo (iced green tea shaken with fresh mint and lime juice).

next to try
afterdark-chamomile, blood orange, cranberry, cherry, apple, and hibiscus
grasshopper-green tea blended with milk, chocolate, and mint.

random rant
although NYC is full of Starbucks (call it a curse or a blessing, at times both), which does an awesome iced white tea, it's fun to discover other alternatives. I still think Jamba Juice is way overrated, personally.
