Sezz Medi Pt 2

Part one here.

Appetizer
-Grilled mediterranean octopus with haricot vert, yukon potato and lemon dressing.
Everything was good except the octopus. It really was too salty for me. but the texture was at least right on. Haricot vert is just some kind of green beans I think.

Salad
-Arugola tossed w/ roasted butternut squash, mushrooms, shaved parmigiano and almonds
I like anything with almonds, it's kind of true.

Pizza
-Fritta. fried pizza: ricotta, smoked mozzarella, basil, vesuvian cherry tomatoes
This was not the same impressive dish that I saw last time I was at Sezz Medi. Clearly the waiting staff lied. The fritta is like an over sized calzone with only cheese and some tomatoes and basil. Never order this again.
- Ortolana: eggplant, peppers, zucchini, tomato, mozzarella
Great choice and fun for veggie lovers!

Side
- Eggplant with mint, honey and garlic
This is my favorite dish of the night. Sweet and light hint of mint, quite different from any eggplant I have tasted. Note to self: buy mint and make this sometime!

Dessert
What's a girls' night out without dessert? In this case, we had two!
-Sezz Cake
pure dark chocolate delight. Made even more special with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (or was it gelato?) and mint leaf.
-3 Scoop Mix of our choice: 1 hazelnut gelato, 1 mango sorbet, 1 peach sorbet
hazelnut was amazing. I also loved mango's tang but the peach wasn't my favorite. not saying it's not well made but I guess peach just occurred to me as a good flavor in general.
